
Netflix today revealed the official trailer (below) for the upcoming limited series Ripley set in the 1960s, premiering April 4th, 2024 with all 8 episodes.
From Academy Award winner Steven Zaillian (Schindler’s List, Moneyball), it stars Emmy nominee Andrew Scott (All of Us Strangers, Fleabag), Dakota Fanning (The First Lady, The Alienist), Johnny Flynn (Emma, Lovesick), Eliot Sumner (No Time to Die, The Gentlemen), Maurizio Lombardi (The Name of the Rose, All the Money in the World), Margherita Buy (Esterno notte, Mia madre), and John Malkovich (The New Look, Dangerous Liaisons).
All episodes were both directed and written by Zaillian.

The synopsis reads: “Tom Ripley (Scott), a grifter scraping by in early 1960s New York, is hired by a wealthy man to travel to Italy to try to convince his vagabond son to return home. Tom’s acceptance of the job is the first step into a complex life of deceit, fraud and murder. The drama series is based on Patricia Highsmith’s bestselling Tom Ripley novels.”
