We were joined back on the Popternative show by Tyler Hynes and Paul Campbell who reprise their roles as the Brenner brothers in Three Wisest Men, the third installment of the Three Wise Men franchise on the Hallmark Channel. Premiering on November 15, Three Wisest Men follows the brothers celebrating their final Christmas in the Brenner house.
Luke (Andrew Walker) is expecting twins, Taylor (Hynes) is debating a new job opportunity out-of-state, and Stephan (Campbell) is planning for his nuptials, while everyone learns that their mom (Margaret Colin) has put their childhood home up for sale.
“Christmas is the pinnacle. In these movies, it’s such a centerpiece. The challenge for us is how do we make something that feels quintessentially Christmas, and yet is a new story or something fresh,” Tyler says.

On returning to play Stephan, Paul tells us, “The beauty of this and the beauty of doing two, three films, is you put on the sweater and you’re like, ‘oh, wait I know this guy, I know how to play in this space.’ There’s something extraordinary about not having to build a character from scratch and burning the first three days of filming because you don’t know the character yet. We literally just jump right back into it and pick up where we left off. Obviously, the characters are growing and moving in different directions than in the previous movies, but they’re the same old Brenners.”
