Actress Rebecca Tilney had one of her first TV guest star appearances 27 years ago on an episode of the hit medical drama series ER. Now, 27 years later, Rebecca takes on a new role in familiar territory.
The new medical drama series, The Pitt, starring ER alum Noah Wyle as head physician Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch, premiered on Max January 9, and takes place during one shift at an emergency department across its 15-episode season. Rebecca can be seen in 3 episodes portraying Helen, the daughter of an elderly patient who has been brought into the emergency from his nursing home. Helen and her brother are made aware that their father has signed a do-not-resuscitate order – something they are struggling to accept.

Losing a parent is something Rebecca is familiar with and leaned on for preparing for her role: “Most of us are going to lose a parent at some point in our life. I’ve lost both of mine, my mother died at 46 and I was 24, and then my father much later. This is not something that is that difficult [for me] to imagine, so I had a lot to draw on,” she explains.

New episodes of The Pitt will drop Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET on on Max through April 10.
Rebecca will next be seen in an upcoming episode of Netflix’s true crime series, Monster: The Ed Gein Story starring Charlie Hunnam, produced by Ryan Murphy.
