We were joined on the Popternative show by Melissa Roxburgh (ManifestTracker) and Patrick Sabongui (Homeland, The Flash) to discuss the new crime procedural series, The Hunting Party. The series debuted on NBC on February 3rd.

Roxburgh and Sabongui star as FBI Profiler Special Agent Rebecca “Bex” Henderson and CIA agent Jacob Hassani, members of an elite team of investigators hunting down escaped convicts following a top-secret prison break.

The ensemble cast also consists of Nick Wechsler (Revenge, Chicago P.D.) as Oliver Odell, Josh McKenzie (La Brea, Filthy Rich) as Pit prison guard Shane Florence, and Sara Garcia (Ride, The Flash) as Army Intelligence officer Jennifer Morales.

On what she enjoyed the most about reading the scripts, Melissa tells us, “I liked the criminal profiling aspect of it. I’m super nosey about the way other peoples’ brains work and so that was fun to dive into.”

She goes on to say, “The twists and turns keep you invested.”

“We were discovering what [the show really was] as we were making it; it’s a brand new concept, it’s not from intellectual property that existed before, and it’s all new territory,” says Patrick.

New epiodes of The Hunting Party air Mondays at 10 p.m. on NBC and can be streamed the next day on Peacock.
