We were joined on the Popternative show by Daniella Pineda (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom) to discuss her role as Anais in The Accountant 2, a sequel to the 2016 action thriller starring Ben Affleck and Jon Bernthal. The film premiered in theaters on April 25.
With Daniella and Allison Robertson (The 31) joining the franchise, Cynthia Addai-Robinson (The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power) reprises her role as U.S. Treasury Deputy Marybeth Medina and J.K. Simmons (Whiplash) returns as Ray King.
Gavin O’Connor (Pride and Glory) also returns as director, and Bill Dubuque (Ozark), who wrote the first movie, also returns as writer for the sequel.
Christian Wolff (Affleck) has a talent for solving complex problems, so when an old acquaintance is murdered, leaving behind a cryptic message to “find the accountant,” Wolff is compelled to solve the case. Realizing more extreme measures are necessary, Wolff recruits his estranged and highly lethal brother, Brax (Bernthal), to help. In partnership with U.S. Treasury Deputy Director Marybeth Medina (Addai-Robinson), they uncover a deadly conspiracy, becoming targets of a ruthless network of killers who will stop at nothing to keep their secrets buried.
