We were joined back on the Popternative show by Sam Morelos who returns to play Nikki in season 2 of Netflix’s That ’90s Show. The new season is split in 2 parts with part 1 now streaming, followed by part 2 premiering on October 24th, 2024.
The That ’70s Show sequel series also stars Kurtwood Smith, Debra Jo Rupp, Callie Haverda, Ashley Aufderheide, Mace Coronel, Maxwell Acee Donovan, and Reyn Doi. Don Stark, Laura Prepon, and Andrea Anders return as well alongside additional guest stars Will Forte, Seth Green, Lisa Loeb, Carmen Electra, Wayne Knight, Kevin Smith, Tommy Chong, Jason Mewes, Matt Rife, and Kadeem Hardison.
On returning back to set for season 2, Sam says, “Getting back on set was a dream come true. I love everyone and I hadn’t seen the majority of my cast for like a year. So coming back was such a lovely environment, it felt like a family reunion. Coming back to play Nikki was really exciting for me because I had an inkling they wanted to do something different with her character this season, but I learned more and more about her her as I read the scripts.”

Going into a new season also allowed for Sam to get to know her character on a deeper level: “I think I have gotten closer to Nikki for sure over the past year and especially during this new season because you see her doing more things and interacting with more people.”
Sam also discusses the storyline of Nikki and Nate’s breakup this season: “We didn’t know what was happening until we wrapped one episode. We shoot an episode on a Friday and that night we get the script for the next week. All we can do is kind of guess what might be happening. So it was so surprising and shocking to even see it written down that we broke up.”
