We had the pleasure of speaking with Terry Crews on the Popternative show about his new animated film Rumble, which drops December 15, 2021 on Paramount+. The wrestling-themed, family-friendly film also stars the voices of Will Arnett, Geraldine Viswanathan, Roman Reigns, Becky Lynch, Tony Danza, Susan Kelechi Watson, Stephen A. Smith, Jimmy Tatro, and Ben Schwartz.
In a world where monster wrestling is a global sport and monsters are superstar athletes, teenage Winnie seeks to follow in her father’s footsteps by coaching a loveable underdog monster into a champion.
In our interview, Terry discusses providing his voice for animation: “The funny hits better, the scary hits better, and so it’s always something that really gets to your subconscious when it comes to animation, and that’s why I love it so much.” We also discuss being a storyteller, working in a range of projects, and what he hopes people get when watching Rumble.
