Fresh off its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival today, the gothic horror film Victorian Psycho has unveiled its first teaser. To mark the occasion, Bleecker Street released a chilling preview ahead of the film’s theatrical debut on September 25. Based on the satirical gothic novel of the same name by Virginia Feito, Victorian Psycho is directed by Zachary Wigon (Sanctuary, The Heart Machine).
Maika Monroe leads the film – someone who is no stranger to the horror genre having starred in The Hand That Rocks the Cradle, Longlegs, Watcher, It Follows, and Villains.
The cast also includes Thomasin McKenzie (Last Night in Soho, Jojo Rabbit), Jason Isaacs (The White Lotus, Harry Potter), Amy De Bhrún (Borderline, Line of Duty), Ruth Wilson (His Dark Materials, The Affair), Jacobi Jupe (Hamnet, Before), and Evie Templeton (Wednesday, Return to Silent Hill).
Set in Victorian England, Victorian Psycho sees an eccentric governess arrive at a remote gothic manor, where strange happenings stir suspicion that she’s not what she seems.
