The first Spanish-language TV adaptation of Isabel Allende’s iconic 1982 novel, The House of the Spirits (La Casa de los Espíritus), will premiere on April 29 on Prime Video.
The series is described as an “eight-episode family saga spanning half a century, centered on three generations of women—Clara, Blanca, and Alba—in a conservative South American country shaped by class struggle, political upheaval, and magic.”
The House of the Spirits stars Alfonso Herrera (Ozark, Sense8) as Esteban Trueba with Nicole Wallace (Our Fault, Raising Voices) and Dolores Fonzi (Blondi, Belén) as Clara del Valle at different stages of her life.
The cast also includes Fernanda Castillo (Isla Brava, Enemigo Íntimo) as as Férula, Aline Küppenheim (A Fantastic Woman, Chile ’76) as Nivea del Valle, Eduard Fernández (The Skin I Live In, Smoke & Mirrors) as Severo del Valle, Sara Becker (Baby Bandito, The Movie Teller) and Fernanda Urrejola (Cry Macho, Narcos: Mexico) as Blanca, Rochi Hernández (My Penguin Friend, 30 Nights with my Ex) as Alba, Juan Pablo Raba (News of a Kidnapping, Narcos) as Tío Marcos, and Pablo Macaya (In Her Place, Primera Dama) and Nicolás Contreras (Baby Bandito, Cuerpo Celeste) as Pedro Tercero.
Author Isabel Allende, Eva Longoria (Necaxa, Land of Women), and Courtney Saladino (Cloak & Dagger, Jessica Jones) are executive producers alongside showrunners Francisca Alegría (The Cow Who Sang a Song Into the Future), Fernanda Urrejola, and Andrés Wood (Machuca, News of a Kidnapping).
