We were joined on the Popternative show by Kevin James (King of Queens, Paul Blart: Mall Cop) who stars in the new rom-com, Solo Mio, which he also co-wrote along with John Kinnane and Patrick Kinnane (Playdate, Sound Guy).
After a wedding catastrophe leaves Matt (James) abandoned in Rome, he’s left heartbroken in the world’s happiest city. But with the help of a determined local and other vacationers, his shattered honeymoon turns into an unexpected adventure.
Solo Mio also stars Alyson Hannigan (How I Met Your Mother, Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Kim Coates (American Primeval, Sons of Anarchy), Jonathan Roumie (The Chosen, Jesus Revolution), Julee Cerda (Blindspot, Passengers), Nicole Grimaudo (Medicina generale, The Devil’s Clock), and Julie Ann Emery (Better Call Saul, Fargo).
“With the with the Italian crew and everybody putting this together, we just knew we had something special. And it’s a fun feeling to know that everybody knows what their job is and what we’re doing and just elevating the project. They made it so much better than what we even wrote,” James says.
James also tells us that Solo Mio is the film he is most proud of: “This is the one I will say that [is] my favorite movie that I’ve I’ve ever been a part of because of the fact that it’s closest to the the character I want to be in my life. This guy is somebody I want to to play. He’s got fault faults, I cry in this movie, I laugh. I’ve seen it so many time because of the great people around me. So, this is the one that I’m most proud of.”
