
Music has always set the mood in horror, but V/H/S/Mixtape is making it the monster. Shudder has revealed the ninth entry in its acclaimed V/H/S found-footage anthology franchise, with a new collection of terrifying stories focused on the power of music and sound to haunt, possess, and destroy.
Blending cosmic horror, psychological suspense, outrageous splatter, and practical effects, V/H/S/Mixtape premieres on Shudder on October 9.
Mixtape will feature new segments from filmmaker Ernest Dickerson (The Walking Dead, Bosch), hip-hop icon RZA, visionary director David Moreau (Other, MadS), and acclaimed filmmaker Renee Zhan (O Black Hole!, Hold Me (Ca Caw Ca Caw)), whose segment will includes original puppets by Jim Henson’s Creature Shop.
V/H/S/Mixtape will also feature original music video interludes directed by acclaimed filmmaker and musician Flying Lotus, alongside a brand-new music video from debut filmmaker Tobias Forge. Legendary shock-metal pioneers GWAR also make a featured appearance.
Producers for the ninth installment of V/H/S include Josh Goldbloom (Night Patrol, V/H/S/Halloween), Steven Schneider (Paranormal Activity, Insidious), Roy Lee (Hokum, Weapons), Michael Schreiber (V/H/S/Halloween, V/H/S/94), Brad Miska (V/H/S franchise, Silent Night, Deadly Night), and executive producers Ben Ross (Undertone, V/H/S/Halloween), and Rami Yasin (Late Night With the Devil, V/H/S/Halloween).
V/H/S/MIXTAPE follows the record-breaking opening weekend of the franchise’s previous installment, the critically acclaimed V/H/S/Halloween, which became the most-watched exclusive film premiere of 2025 for Shudder and AMC+.
Previous installments include V/H/S/Beyond (2024), V/H/S/85 (2023), V/H/S/99 (2022), V/H/S/94 (2021), V/H/S: Viral (2014), V/H/S/2 (2013), and V/H/S (2012).
