
Bleecker Street today announced that the satirical body horror Slant, starring Shirley Chen (Dìdi, Quiz Lady) and McKenna Grace (Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, Regretting You) will arrive in theaters on March 13.
Written and directed by Amy Wang (The Brothers Sun, From Scratch) in her feature debut, the film also stars Vivian Wu (The Afterparty, The Last Emperor) Maitreyi Ramakrishnan (Never Have I Ever, Turning Red), Amelie Zilber (Emily in Paris, Grown-ish), and Fang Du (The Haves and the Have Nots, The Blacklist).

The official synopsis reads, “Joan Huang idolizes the popular girls and dreams of being prom queen, but fears the only way to win is to look like all the past queens whose portraits line her high school halls. Enter Ethnos: a mysterious cosmetic surgery clinic that turns people of color white. Joan undergoes the procedure and wakes up a beautiful blonde destined for the crown, but at what cost Blending sharp satire, sci-fi, and body horror, Slanted proves that identity is never only skin-deep.”
