FX today revealed the official trailer for the upcoming 10-episode miniseries Shōgun, set to premiere in February 2024 on Hulu and FX in the U.S, and on Disney+ in Canada and the UK. Set in Japan in the year 1600, Shōgun is based on James Clavell’s bestselling novel of the same name and was created for television by Rachel Kondo and Justin Marks (Top Gun: Maverick, Counterpart), with Marks serving as showrunner and executive producer.

The logline reads: “Lord Yoshii Toranaga is fighting for his life as his enemies on the Council of Regents unite against him, when a mysterious European ship is found marooned in a nearby fishing village.”

The cast includes Hiroyuki Sanada (Mortal Kombat), Cosmo Jarvis (Lady Macbeth), Anna Sawai (Pachinko), Tadanobu Asano (Kubi), Hiroto Kanai (Labyrinth of Cinema), Takehiro Hira (Snake Eyes), Moeka Hoshi (Why Didn’t I Tell You a Million Times?), Tokuma Nishioka (Green Grass), Shinnosuke Abe (Cop Seven), Yuki Kura (Followers), and Fumi Nikaidô (Why Don’t You Play in Hell?).
