We were joined on the Popternative show by the voice cast of the new Nickelodeon animated comedy series, Rock Paper Scissors which premiered Monday, February 12th. The series stars Ron Funches (Trolls, Loot) as Rock, the member of the trio with the biggest heart and moral compass; Thomas Lennon (Zoey 102, Reno 911!) as Paper, the wannabe intellectual who dreams of being a famous inventor; and Carlos Alazraqui (Rocko’s Modern Life, Reno 911!) as Scissors, who acts overly confident and always wants to be cool.
Rock Paper Scissors also stars Melissa Villaseñor (Saturday Night Live) as Pencil, the trio’s incredibly smart neighbor down the hall and Eddie Pepitone (The Muppets, Old School) as Lou, the angry landlord, who is also a garbage can. In the half-hour premiere episode titled “Scissors Gets a Job,” Scissors tries to become a janitor after he runs out of money but discovers that the job involves way more skill than he initially thought. Meanwhile, Rock and Paper try to motivate Scissors in an unusual way.

Check out our conversation with Melissa Villaseñor, Ron Funches, Carlos Alazraqui, and Thomas Lennon below. New episodes of Rock Paper Scissors air weekdays at 5:30 p.m. (ET/PT) and internationally later in the year.
