We were joined back on the Popternative show by Mckenna Grace (Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, Gifted) who stars in the romance drama, Regretting You, the film adaptation of the popular Colleen Hoover novel.
Out in theaters today, the film also stars Allison Williams (M3GAN, Get Out), Dave Franco (Together, Now You See Me), Mason Thames (The Black Phone, How to Train Your Dragon), Sam Morelos (Summer of 69, That ’90s Show), Scott Eastwood (Fast X, The Longest Ride), Willa Fitzgerald (Strange Darling, The Fall of the House of Usher), and Clancy Brown (The Penguin, The Shawshank Redemption).
Directed by Josh Boone (The New Mutants, The Fault in Our Stars), the film follows Morgan Grant (Williams) and her daughter Clara (Grace) as they explore what’s left behind after a devastating accident reveals a shocking betrayal and forces them to confront family secrets, redefine love, and rediscover each other.

When discussing the book, Mckenna tells us that she was invested in trying to stay as close to the it as possible: “Because I’m such a big reader, everyday, I would show up with my book [on set] and talk to Josh [Boone] and say, ‘can we put this line in, I have these pages highlighted,’ and I wanted everything from the book in there. But eventually I had to let go of that a little bit. But I want to stay as true to the book as I could because I am the fan.”
Mckenna also discusses working with her co-star Mason Thames and the bonding they went through before filming. Watch the full interview with Mckenna Grace below.
