The world of Legally Blonde came to life at Elle World, an immersive celebration at Manhattan’s Hall des Lumières ahead of the July 1 premiere of Prime Video‘s upcoming prequel series, Elle. The event marked both the launch of the series and the 25th anniversary of the beloved 2001 film.

Starring Lexi Minetree (The Murdaugh Murders) as the titular chracacter, June Diane Raphael (Grace and Frankie) as Elle’s mother Eva, and Tom Everett Scott (The Summer I Turned Pretty) as Elle’s father, Wyatt, Elle premieres July 1.

Stars of the new series, including Lexi Minetree and June Diane Raphael, joined attendees in exploring themed installations with the evening ending in a historic onstage reunion, as Legally Blonde star Reese Witherspoon was joined by fellow original stars Jennifer Coolidge, Selma Blair, Ali Larter, Matthew Davis, and Victor Garber for their first gathering together since the film’s release.

Hoku took the stage to perform her upbeat anthem “Perfect Day,”from the iconic opening sequence of the original film. Vanessa Carlton also surprised the room with a performance of her timeless hit “A Thousand Miles.”

Elle also stars Jacob Moskovitz (Y2K), Gabrielle Policano (Babygirl), Chandler Kinney (Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin), Zac Looker (Geek Girl), and Amy Pietz (Paradise), with recurring cast members Jessica Belkin (The Hunting Wives), Danielle Chand, Matt Oberg (Hacks), Chloe Wepper (Office Christmas Party), Logan Shroyer (This Is Us), Sharon Taylor (Cross), David Burtka (How I Met Your Mother), Brad Harder (Just Like a Christmas Movie), Kayla Maisonet (NCIS: Origins), Lisa Yamada (Cruel Summer), and the late James Van Der Beek (Dawson’s Creek).

The synopsis of Elle reads, “Season One of Elle follows Elle Woods before she was a fish-out-of-water at Harvard. We meet her in 1995 as a fish in the tumultuous waters of high school where she encounters tricky friendships, forbidden romance, and questionable fashion choices. Through it all, Elle uses her family as a touchstone, and forms an even tighter bond to her mother, proving that they can get through anything life throws their way as long as they have each other. With each challenge she faces, Elle grows closer to the Elle Woods we know and love today.”
