As the year ends people often look back on everything that transpired to reflect on milestones or experiences that happened over the course of 12 months. Over here at Popternative, we’re doing that the pop culture way by sharing highlights our website and social media platforms had in 2023.

Back in January, Popternative started the year strong with Jai Courtney and Rosaline Elbay from Netflix’s Kaleidoscope as the first interview of 2023. Kaleidoscope was released on Netflix on January 1 and had a unique aspect. The series centered around the largest heist ever attempted and viewers could watch the show in whichever episode order of their choosing with episode “White” being viewed last, yet the entire story would still make sense.

Popternative landed major interviews throughout the year with host Petey Beats chatting with stars from Hollywood’s biggest films and TV shows.

Below are some of the most viewed Popternative interviews on YouTube in 2023.

The cast of Paramount+’s Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies sharing which songs they sang during their auditions

Sophia Lillis discussing Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves

Nikki Rodriguez, Noah LaLonde and Ashby Gentry from Netflix’s My Life with the Walter Boys giving insight on the coming-of-age series

Wednesday actress Emma Myers talking about her holiday Netflix film Family Switch and her Wednesday character Enid Sinclair

Micah Abbey talking about voicing Donatello in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem

Carson Rowland hyping up Sweet Magnolias season 3 on Netflix

Apple TV+’s Isaiah Hill and Quvenzhané Wallis on Swagger season 2

Nathália Costa sharing details about projects in Brazil, her acting career and more

Over on Instagram, Popternative racked up 156K likes. Most of the likes came from content focused on horror.

Violet McGraw talking about M3GAN, one of the most popular horror films of 2023, got a lot of traction on Instagram.

Popternative’s The Black Phone content is still getting big viewership even though the film was released in 2022. Tristan Pravong’s photoshoot with his Black Phone cast members, cast updates on Black Phone 2, an original meme, and the Scream VI character poster release were very popular. Richa Moorjani chatting with Popternative about the big dance sequence in the final season of Netflix’s Never Have I Ever was the topped liked Instagram post of the year.

We love movies at Popternative and watched and reviewed many blockbusters over the course of the year. Scream VI, Joy Ride, Maestro, May December, Thanksgiving, The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, and of course Barbie, were some favorites.

As Popternative wraps 2023, we’d like to thank all loyal supporters and new additions for being a key reason why we’ve had such a successful year! Stay tuned for more amazing content coming in 2024.

Happy New Year!
