Showtime today announced that Emmy and Golden Globe winner Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones, Avengers: Infinity War) has joined the cast of the new Showtime original drama series, Dexter: Resurrection starring SAG and Golden Globe winner Michael C. Hall in the titular role of Dexter Morgan.
Dinklage will play the series regular role of Leon Prater, a billionaire venture capitalist. To the world, Leon is a generous philanthropist, but behind his polished exterior lies dark intrigue.
Previously announced cast include Uma Thurman, David Zayas, James Remar, and Jack Alcott. Thurman will play the head of security for Leon Prater, Zayas will reprise his role as Angel Batista, Remar as Harry Morgan, Dexter’s father, and Alcott as Dexter’s son, Harrison Morgan.
Production for Dexter: Resurrection kicked off earlier this month in New York and the series is set to launch in summer of 2025 on Paramount+ with Showtime.
The new series is executive produced by Emmy-nominee Clyde Phillips (Dexter, Nurse Jackie), who also returns to serve as showrunner, and produced by SHOWTIME Studios and Counterpart Studios. Michael C. Hall also serves as executive producer along with Scott Reynolds (Dexter, Jessica Jones), Tony Hernandez (Broad City, Emily in Paris) and Lilly Burns (Search Party, Russian Doll), with Marcos Siega (Bad Monkey, Dexter: New Blood) serving as producing director.
Most recently, Dexter: Original Sin, a prequel series that follows Dexter (played by Patrick Gibson) as he transitions from student to serial killer, debuted in December of last year and delivered the most- streamed Showtime premiere in history with more than 2.1M global cross-platform viewers. The series is now streaming on Paramount+ with Showtime.
