Netflix and the BBC have announced new cast members joining the Peaky Blinders sequel series, which stars Charlie Heaton (Stranger Things, Industry) and Jamie Bell (Half Man, All of Us Strangers) as Charles and Duke Shelby. The new series is set a decade after the events in the film, Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man.
Bell will step into the role of Duke Shelby, taking over from Barry Keoghan. It was also previously announced that Jessica Brown Findlay (Harlots, Downton Abbey), Lashana Lynch (The Day of The Jackal, No Time to Die), and Lucy Karczewski (Stereophonic) joined the cast.
New cast members just announced are Conleth Hill (Vienna Blood, Game of Thrones), Samuel Bottomley (Coldwater, How to Have Sex), Arturo Muselli (Gomorrah, Resta con me), Cal O’Driscoll (Obituary, Vikings: Valhalla), Eugene Collins (The Bay, Age Before Beauty), Daniel Monks (A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, All Her Fault), and Lucie Shorthouse (We Are Lady Parts, Bulletproof).
Ned Dennehy and Packy Lee will reprise their roles as Charlie Strong and Johnny Dogs, respectively, from the original series and film.
The synopsis reads, “Having fought a violent war, much of it behind enemy lines, Charles Shelby (Charlie Heaton) is now embracing normality. He hasn’t seen his half-brother Duke – played by Jamie Bell – in years. Charles severed all ties to the Peaky Blinders gang, and the hedonistic Shelby lifestyle. But can you ever escape your own blood? In this new era of Peaky Blinders, set a decade after World War Two, the race to rebuild Birmingham becomes a brutal contest of mythical dimensions.
