Oscars 2025: Full List of Winners & Surprise Shut Outs
Anora was the big winner at last night’s 97th Academy Awards. Out of its 6 nominations, Anora took home 5 awards (Best Picture, Best Actress, Best Director, Best Editing, Best Original Screenplay).
It was a night where the films with the most nominations did not end up winning big, or even at all. Emilia Pérez, which has been subject to controversy this entire awards season, only picked up two awards out of its thirteen nominations (Best Supporting Actress, Best Original Song).
While both The Brutalist and Wicked earned ten nominations each, The Brutalist picked up three (Best Actor, Best Original Score, Best Cinematography) and Wicked received two (Best Costume Design, Best Production Design).
Conclave and A Complete Unknown each had eight nominations but Conclave received just one award for Best Adapted Screenplay and A Complete Unknown was completely shut out.
Coralie Fargeat‘s horror film, The Substance received an impressive five nominations (not an easy achievement for the genre) but ultimately went home with just one award (Best Makeup and Hairstyling).
