Netflix today dropped a second teaser from their upcoming new adaptaion of Little House on the Prairie, based on Laura Ingalls Wilder’s classic book series. Set to premiere on July 9, 2026, Netflix also recently announced an early Season 2 renewal. The new teaser gives audiences a look at the people and community surrounding the Ingalls family.

Writen during the Great Depression and originally released in the 1930s, Wilder’s books were later brought to life in the popular television series Little House on the Prairie, which aired for almost ten years spanning the 1970s and early 1980s. Part hopeful family drama, part epic survival tale, and part origin story of the American West, this new adaptation of the Little House books “offers a kaleidoscopic view of the struggles and triumphs of those who shaped the frontier.”

Little House on the Prairie stars Alice Halsey (Lessons in Chemistry) as Laura Ingalls, Skywalker Hughes (Joe Pickett) as Laura’s older sister, Mary, Luke Bracey (The Artful Dodger) as Pa, Laura’s father, and Crosby Fitzgerald (The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox) as Ma, Laura’s mother.

“This show is a love story about a family. They’re a family you want to be with, you want to know, you want to spend time with,” showrunner Rebecca Sonnenshine (The Vampire Diaries) tells Tudum. “That’s really at the core of what Little House on the Prairie is about: a family that is there for each other, that tells stories to each other, tells stories about themselves.”

Directing the episodes are Sarah Adina Smith (A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms) for episode 101, Julie Anne Robinson (The Hunting Wives) for episdes 102 and 103, Kat Candler (Queen Sugar) for episodes 104 and 105, Erica Tremblay (Dark Winds) for episode 106, and Sydney Freeland (Reservation Dogs) for episodes 107and 108.
