New International Films and Series to Watch on Netflix
Netflix released their slate of new international films and new TV series premiering throughout September and October 2025. Highlights include the new Spanish series, Billionaires’ Bunker from the creators of Money Heist and the French romance, French Lover starring Lupin‘s Omar Sy. The Dead Girls/Las muertas (Limited Series) (Mexico) – September 10
Cast: Paulina Gaitán, Arcelia Ramírez, Joaquín Cosío, Alfonso Herrera, Mauricio Isaac, Leticia Huijara, Enrique Arreola, Fernando Bonilla
Synopsis: “Based on Jorge Ibargüengoitia’s novel, Las Muertas fictionalizes the rise and fall of the sisters Arcángela and Serafina Baladro. In the 1960s, they built an empire of brothels and became infamous in history as the most ruthless and feared serial killers in the country.”
The Ba***ds Of Bollywood (Season 1) (India) – September 18
Cast: Bobby Deol, Lakshya, Raghav Juyal, Sahher Bambba, Anyaa Singh, Manoj Pahwa, Manish Chaudhari, Rajat Bedi, Mona Singh, Gautami Kapoor
Synopsis: “An ambitious outsider and his friends navigate the larger-than-life yet uncertain world of Bollywood. Billionaires’ Bunker (Season 1) (Spain) – September 19

French Lover (Film) (France) – September 26
Cast: Omar Sy, Sara Giraudeau, Pascale Arbillot
Synopsis: “When a jaded actor meets a down-on-her-luck waitress in Paris, their unexpected love story begins — but will it survive the glare of the spotlight?”
Genie, Make a Wish (Season 1) (South Korea) – October 3

Synopsis: “Genie — a magic spirit in a lamp who has come back to the human world after a millennium of his career being put on hold — encounters Ka-young, an impassive woman who goes through the motions of life by her grandmother’s rules and her own routines.”
The Resurrected (Season 1) (Taiwan) – October 9

Synopsis: “Set in the fictional city of Benkha, The Resurrected centers on two mothers united by hatred, seeking revenge for their daughters caught in a fraud and kidnapping case. With help from a mysterious goddess, they revive the deceased ringleader of the fraud scheme to punish him. Yet, despite inflicting relentless pain, their fury remains unquenched. She Walks in Darkness (Film) (Spain) – October 17
Cast: Susana Abaitua, Andrés Gertrúdix, Iraia Elias, Raúl Arévalo, Ariadna Gil.
Synopsis: “She Walks in Darkness is inspired by the most significant undercover operation against ETA, a mission that became a turning point in Spain’s fight against terrorism. Set during the 1990s and 2000s, the film tells the story of Amaia (played by Susana Abaitua), a young Civil Guard officer who spends more than a decade undercover within the terrorist organization, aiming to locate secret weapons caches (“zulos”) hidden in southern France.”
