Netflix today shared first look photos from the upcoming second season of its action thriller series The Night Agent, set to premiere in winter 2025. Additionally, season 3 has already been renewed for 10 episodes and will begin production in Istanbul at the end of 2024 before returning to film in New York in 2025.
Based on the novel by Matthew Quirk, The Night Agent follows a low level FBI Agent, Peter Sutherland, whose efforts to save the President in season one earn him an opportunity to become a Night Agent in season 2. But working in the secretive organization of Night Action will propel Peter into a world where danger is everywhere and trust is in short supply.
Gabriel Basso (Hillbilly Elegy, The Big C) and Luciane Buchanan (The New Legends of Monkey, Filthy Rich) return for season 2, and Amanda Warren (Dickinson, The Leftovers) is joining the cast as Catherine, a veteran of the top secret Night Action investigative program who trains and oversees various Night Agents, including new recruit Peter Sutherland. Brittany Snow (X, Pitch Perfect) also joins the cast as Peter’s partner and mentor in his first assignment in Night Action.
Joining Warren and Snow as series regulars in season 2 are Arienne Mandi (The L Word: Generation Q, Tatami), Berto Colon (Power Book II: Ghost, Orange Is The New Black), Michael Malarkey (The Vampire Diaries, Project Blue Book), Teddy Sears (Raising the Bar, Masters of Sex), Navid Negahban (Tehran, The Old Man), Rob Heaps (Partner Track, Imposters), and Keon Alexander (The Expanse, Tyrant).
Guest stars for season 2 will include Marwan Kenzari (Aladdin, The Old Guard), Elise Kibler (Daredevil), and Dikran Tulaine (The Blacklist, The Walking Dead).
Season one debuted in March 2023, and according to Netflix, “was the most watched series in 2023 (by views) and currently ranks as the 7th Most Popular English series on Netflix of all time, with a staggering 98.2M views in its first 91 days. In its first month, it was #1 in the Global Top 10 for four consecutive weeks and reached the #1 spot in the Top 10 for 87 countries.”
