Netflix has officially announced the release date for Season 2 of its live-action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender, with the next chapter set to premiere on June 25. Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 2 follows Aang, played by Gordon Cormier (The Stand), as he and his friends travel deeper into the Earth Kingdom. As the threat of Fire Lord Ozai, played by Daniel Dae Kim (Hawaii Five-0, Lost), looms larger, the group finds themselves navigating new challenges and alliances. Their path leads them to the enigmatic city of Ba Sing Se, a key setting for the new season.

Also starring in Season 2 are Kiawentiio (Beans, Anne with an E), Ian Ousley (Physical, 13 Reaosns Why), Dallas Liu (Sakamoto Days, Pen15), Miyako (Surfside Girls, Beef), Elizabeth Yu (May December, Year One), Momona Tamada (The Spiderwick Chronicles, The Baby-Sitters Club), Paul Sun-Hyung Lee (The Mandalorian, Kim’s Convenience), and Maria Zhang (A Man on the Inside, The Rookie).

Season 2 also marks the arrival of one of the franchise’s most fan-favorite characters, Toph Beifong: a formidable blind earthbending master, played by Miyako.

Avatar: The Last Airbender follows Aang, the young Avatar, as he learns to master the four elements (Water, Earth, Fire, Air) to restore balance to a world threatened by the terrifying Fire Nation. In Season 2, after a bittersweet victory saving the Northern Water Tribe from the invading Fire Nation, Avatar Aang, Katara and Sokka regroup and set off on a mission to convince the elusive Earth King to aid in their battle against fearsome Fire Lord Ozai.
