Netflix today revealed the official trailer for the upcoming animated film, The Witcher: Sirens of The Deep, premiering February 11 on the streaming platform. According to Tudum, “the film is set between Episodes 5 and 6 of The Witcher Season 1.” The Witcher universe is inspired by the series of books by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski, and Sirens of the Deep is based on his short story, “A Little Sacrifice.”

The official synopsis reads: “Geralt of Rivia, a mutated monster hunter, is hired to investigate a series of attacks in a seaside village and finds himself drawn into a centuries-old conflict between humans and merpeople. He must count on friends — old and new — to solve the mystery before the hostilities between the two kingdoms escalate into all-out war.”

The film is written by The Witcher series writers Mike Ostrowski and Rae Benjamin, and produced by The Witcher showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich. Director is Kang Hei Chul, who was a storyboard artist on The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf.

Doug Cockle, who voices Geralt in The Witcher video game series, will also voice Gerarlt in this new film, while Anya Chalotra reprises the role of Yennefer of Vengerberg, and newcomer Christina Wren will voice a new character, Essi Daven.
