Netflix Reveals Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 Trailer, Blue Eye Samurai Season 2 Release Date, & More at Anime NYC 2026
Netflix Animation made its grand return at Anime NYC 2026 with a bunch of announcements! Along with a few updates for its upcoming shows, several stars also took to the stage, including Jacob Romero, Brian Tyree Henry, and many more! However, the biggest highlights that came out of Netflix’s Anime NYC panel this year include the newest teaser for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 and Blue Eye Samurai Season 2’s release date.

Blue Eye Samurai Season 2 Lands a January 2027 Release
At the panel, it was confirmed that Blue Eye Samurai Season 2 will premiere in January 2027. The teaser trailer sees Mizu finally travelling to London to put an end to Abijah’s dark schemes. However, Mizu’s travels don’t go as expected as a dangerous storm pulls her into treacherous water. While Mizu is stuck in London, Akemi, Taigen, and Ringo will be dealing with new power struggles and much more in Japan.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Season 2 Teaser Breaks the Digital Boundaries
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 was also featured at Netflix’s Anime NYC panel, which highlights a new danger plaguing Night City. This season, a new group of edgerunners is investigating a mysterious entity whose powers were siphoned by collecting people in Night City. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 will premiere on Netflix on October 20.
Although it’s unlikely that the original Edgerunners team will be making their appearances here, fans of the game and the anime can get to enjoy a new story that will shake things up.

Bass X Machina Teaser Throws Brian Tyree Henry Into a Steampunk Western
One new series that will be premiering on Netflix is Bass X Machina, which was teased by series star Brian Tyree Henry. Henry, who also serves as executive producer, will be voicing Bass, who serves as judge, jury, and executioner in a lawless land. In addition, Henry will be joined by Janelle Monáe, Tati Gabrielle, Cree Summer, and more. Bass X Machina will premiere on Netflix on October 6.

Netflix Brings Straw Hat Pirates Back With Two One Piece Projects
Netflix’s Anime NYC panel wouldn’t be an exciting panel without bringing up One Piece. The second season of the live-action adaptation took fans by storm, but while Season 3 remains in the clouds, Netflix brought the official trailer for LEGO One Piece and new artwork for The One Piece. LEGO One Piece will see the live-action cast, including Iñaki Godoy, Mackenyu, Emily Rudd, Jacob Romero, and Taz Skylar, returning for the family friendly special.
Additionally, the artwork for The One Piece sees Monkey D. Luffy and the rest of the Straw Hat Pirates ready for their newest reboot. This series, which is produced by Wit Studio, adapts the One Piece manga for the modern day and will run concurrently with the main series. The One Piece is set to premiere on Netflix sometime in February 2027.

Sakamoto Days Season 2 Highlights New Deadly Characters
In addition, a new character trailer for Sakamoto Days Season 2 also teased new faces that viewers can expect to appear. These characters include Amane Yotsumura, a skilled prodigy who hates the Association of Assassins, Etsuko Satoda, a retired assassin who’s helping to teach new JCC classes, and Satoru Yotsumura, Amane’s father and the leader of the elusive Order.
Plus, a new poster for Sakamoto Days Season 2 was also released, which fans got to see snippets of previously. Sakamoto Days Season 2 will also premiere on Netflix in January 2027.

Fool Night Teaser Trailer Unveils a Dark Dystopian Reality of Plants
One of the most anticipated series heading to Netflix includes the Fool Night adaptation, which is the first collaboration between anime studios Sunrise and SHAFT. The teaser trailer shows that humanity has been suffering and the only way that humans can survive is by turning into plants. Fool Night will premiere on November 26 on Netflix.
The original manga’s logline states the following: “Kamiya is at the end of his rope. His mother is ill, and his job barely pays for her medication, much less food. With few options left, he considers the life-changing process of transfloration. Ready to give his body up for a payday, Kamiya is about to explore the limits of society’s waning humanity.”
Furthermore, a handful of new images for Fool Night were also released, revealing more of the bleak world that this group of humans will have to survive in. To give fans a better look into this flora-obsessive world of Kasumi Yasuda, Netflix also released a featurette with appearances from director Aisushi Yukawa, producer Yoshihiro Iwata, and more.
