After premiering on February 27, Netflix has quickly renewed the basketball comedy series, Running Point, for Season 2. The series is written and executive produced by Mindy Kaling, Ike Barinholtz, and David Stassen (The Mindy Project) and stars Kate Hudson (Glass Onion, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days).
Hudson plays Isla Gordon who is appointed president of the Los Angeles Waves, one of the most storied professional basketball franchises, and her family business. Ambitious and often overlooked, Isla will have to prove to her skeptical brothers, the board, and the larger sports community that she was the right choice for the job.
The cast also includes Brenda Song (The Last Showgirl, Dollface), Drew Tarver (The Other Two, Bajillion Dollar Propertie$), Max Greenfield (New Girl, The Neighborhood), Scott MacArthur (The Righteous Gemstones, The Mick), Fabrizio Guido (Mr. Iglesias, Perry Mason), Toby Sandeman (The Game, The Royals), Chet Hanks (Your Honor, Shameless), Jay Ellis (Insecure, Top Gun: Maverick), Justin Theroux (Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, The Leftovers), Keyla Monterroso Mejia (Curb Your Enthusiasm, Freeridge), Roberto Sanchez (Dexter: Original Sin, Palm Royale), Uche Agada (Rise), and Dane DiLiegro (Imaginary, Prey).
