Netflix today revealed a teaser from the upcoming limited series, Ripley, premiering April 4, 2024 on the streaming platform. The highly-anticipated drama will star Andrew Scott (All of Us StrangersFleabag) as Tom Ripley, and all eight episodes were directed and written by Steven Zaillian (MoneyballThe Irishman). The drama series is based on Patricia Highsmith’s bestselling Tom Ripley novels.

The synopsis reads: “Tom Ripley (Andrew Scott), a grifter scraping by in early 1960s New York, is hired by a wealthy man to travel to Italy to try to convince his vagabond son to return home. Tom’s acceptance of the job is the first step into a complex life of deceit, fraud and murder.”

The cast also includes Dakota Fanning (The First Lady, The Alienist), Johnny Flynn (Emma., Lovesick), Elliot Sumner (Pretty Red Dress, The Gentlemen), Maurizio Lombardi (Amusia, All the Money in the World), Margherita Buy (The First Day of My Life, Esterno notte), and John Malkovich (Seneca, Billions).

Executive producers are Steven Zaillian, Garrett Basch, Clayton Townsend, Guymon Casady, Ben Forkner, Sharon Levy, and Philipp Keel of Diogenes. Andrew Scott will also serve as a producer on the series.
