Netflix today released the first 5 minutes of part 2 of Cobra Kai season 6, which will drop on November 15th. Part 1 debuted in July and ended with dojos from all over the globe arriving in Barcelona for the Sekai Taikai tournament. Part 1 also ended with some major twists and major cliffhangers.
Watch the fist 5 minutes via Tudum.
The clip opens with Sekai Taikai representative Gunther welcoming the dojos to Barcelona and explaining the rules, followed by Johnny (William Zabka) and Daniel (Ralph Macchio) getting into an argument over Tory (Peyton List) joining Kreese’s (Martin Kove) rival dojo. Tensions are already high in just the first 5 minutes.
Co-creator Jon Hurwitz told Tudum, “We left off with the big surprise that Tory has joined Cobra Kai. We’re in the aftermath of that with everyone reacting to what just happened while also trying to get their footing as the new kids on the block of this giant international tournament that has been going on for decades. They have no idea what’s in store for them.”
Part 2 will also see new characters with Lewis Tan (Deadpool v. Wolverine, Mortal Kombat), Patrick Luwis (Rebel Moon), and newcomer Rayna Vallandingham joining the cast. First appearing in Part 2, the three are a part of a competing dojo at the Sekai Taikai. Lewis Tan plays Sensei Wolf, Patrick Luwis plays Axel Kovacevic, and Rayna Vallandingham plays Zara Malik.
Co-creator Josh Heald also told Tudum, “We wanted to make sure that we deliver on the promise of your entering an international martial arts competition. It’s not just Cobra Kai and Miyagi-Do – anyone can win the Sekai Taikai. It’s anyone’s game.”
Cobra Kai season 6 Part 1 is streaming on Netflix, and Part 2 debuts November 15th. The final part will arrive in 2025.
