Netflix today announced that production is underway for Bet Season 2, the live-action series based on the hit Japanese manga, Kakegurui, from Homura Kawamoto and illustrator Tōru Naomura. Bet Season 2 will see Miku Martineau (Kate) reprise her role as Yumeko. Netflix also announced that rapper Saweetie is joining the cast.
From creator Simon Barry (Warrior Nun), the teen drama series follows teens from around the world at an elite private school, St. Dominic’s, where a secret gambling culture dictates social status. When a skilled gambler harboring dark secrets transfers to the school, her unmatched talent and quest for revenge could turn the school’s hierarchy upside down. Season 1 launched in May 2025 and was quickly renewed for a second season the following month.
“There’s a psychological edge to the world of Bet that immediately brought me in and the character instantly called to me. The fact it’s rooted in manga, this Japanese storytelling tradition that’s been shaping street culture and fashion for years, is what sealed it. Bet, like me, doesn’t play it safe,” Saweetie tells Netflix.
The Bet Season 2 cast also includes Ayo Solanke (Clown in a Cornfield), Eve Edwards (The Bad Orphan), Clara Alexandrova (A Miillion Little Things), Hunter Cardinal (Scout), Anwen O’Driscoll (Burden of Truth), Aviva Mongillo (Workin’ Moms), Ryan Sutherland (Nick Shorts), Laura Afelskie (Painkiller), Rami Khan (Wayward), and Bryn Samuel (Night of the Reaper).
