Netflix Animation’s Big Announcement Reveals at Anime NYC 2025: Sakamoto Days Part 2, Blue Eye Samurai Season 2, & Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Deathwatch
Anime NYC 2025 is officially in full swing and the convention is hitting with huge first day announcements thanks to Netflix. Today, Netflix Animation unveiled some updates regarding their upcoming animation slate, which includes the likes of some fan-favorite series including Blue Eye Samurai Season 2, Sakamoto Days Part 2, and two big video game franchises.
Netflix Animation has seen incredible successes, much in due to their streaming summer blockbuster, KPop Demon Hunters, and their Emmy run for Arcane Season 2. For convention attendees, fans can also catch the bus sing-along that will be running throughout the weekend.
Netflix has become the go-to destination for adult animation featuring a slate of action packed animated series like Emmy nominated Arcane and Love, Death + Robots, fan favorites Castlevania and Castlevania: Nocturne, and the upcoming Magic: the Gathering, Cyberpunk Edgerunners 2 and more.

Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Deathwatch
At Netflix’s Anime NYC panel, John Wick writer Derek Kolstad joined the panel to introduce fans to the return of Sam Fisher in Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Deathwatch! Next to Liev Schreiber’s casting as Ubisoft’s iconic secret agent, it was also revealed that Kirby Howell-Baptiste will be joining the cast as the voice of agent Zinnia McKenna. The upcoming animated series is set to release on Netflix on October 14.
Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Deathwatch is set a few years following the events of the last game, Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Blacklist. Following Sam Fisher’s missions into deeper conspiracies and mystery, Deathwatch will put Fisher to the ultimate test.
Devil May Cry Season 2
Dante and the seven circles of Hell are coming back again with Netfix’s Devil May Cry Season 2! At the panel, the newest teaser trailer was revealed, showcasing the gruesomeness that Dante will have to face this time around. Season 1 saw Dante having to face the terrorist organization led by the “White Rabbit”, who sought the human race’s revenge.

Blue Eye Samurai Season 2
The Emmy award-winning Blue Eye Samurai is officially coming back, which was previously announced yesterday. However, Anime NYC fans got a special look at the upcoming season, which features Mizu (Maya Erskine) raiding another fortress on her quest to discover who she really is. In addition, two more images were also revealed, which you can check out down below!
Joining the panel were executive producers Michael Green and Jane Wu, who gave fans more insight into the highly anticipated Season 2.
Season 2 is now in production and Season 1 is currently streaming on Netflix!
Sakamoto Days Part 2
The fan-favorite Netflix anime, Sakamoto Days, finally unveiled their newest Part 2 teaser trailer, featuring a new look at the JAA trials that the Sakamoto family will embark on! Joining the panel was the English dub voice actor for Slur, Vinnie Hacker, who gave fans more insight into what Slur’s plan might really be.
Additionally, a few more images were also released, showcasing what the Sakamoto family will be up against very soon. Sakamoto Days releases new episodes every Monday!
Record of Ragnarok Season 3
Lastly, Netflix gave fans a big trailer for one of the most popular series on the platform, Record of Ragnarok Season 3! “I’m so grateful that the third season of the anime is being produced,” writer Shinya Umemura Umemura told Netflix on Netflix TUDUM. “This is all thanks to everyone’s support — thank you from the bottom of my heart. I can’t wait to see how that one move by Nikola Tesla appears on screen! I hope everyone will continue to watch Record of Ragnarok!”
The series pits historical figures against deities from various mythologies against each other in a 13-round mortal-vs.-god death match — whichever side reaches seven victories first will claim victory in the Ragnarok. If mankind wins, they will continue to exist… at least for one more millennium.
