The Netflix action fantasy series Sweet Tooth returned for its second season back on April 27. Based on the DC comic book by Jeff Lemire, Sweet Tooth stars Christian Convery as Gus and follows the half human/half deer boy who survives in a post-apocalyptic world with other hybrids. Naledi Murray plays Wendy the half human/half pig hybrid who found herself held captive by the end of season one for experimentation purposes.
Wendy was taken away from her adoptive mother Aimee Eden (played by Dania Ramirez) and had to play a bigger role in season 2. “The first season she was with her mom, and she could always depend on her mom and she had her whole family…you know she’s very close to her mom. She’s never been a day away from her mom, so now this next season she’s on her own. She kind of has to step in and take that motherly role and you know she’s in charge of all her siblings and she has no idea what’s happening. She finds Gus and kind of takes him under her wing,” Naledi told Popternative.
Naledi also told Popternative host Petey Beats she welcomed the new challenge for her character. “I love how Wendy really gets to step in and she takes care of her [siblings] all while dealing with the struggles of being captured. She’s a prisoner in her own home. She has a lot of pent-uprage, but she has to really toughen up.”
