We were joined on the Popternative show by Noa Cohen (8200, Infinity) and director D.J. Caruso (Disturbia, I Am Number Four) to discuss the new coming-of-age biblical epic, Mary, streaming now on Netflix.

Through Mary’s eyes, Mary tells the story of one of history’s most profound figures and the remarkable journey that led to the birth of Jesus. Chosen to bring the Messiah into the world, Mary (Noa Cohen) is shunned following a miraculous conception and forced into hiding. When King Herod (Anthony Hopkins) orders a murderous hunt for her newborn baby, Mary and Joseph (Ido Tako), go on the run – bound by faith and driven by courage – to save his life at all costs.
“I immediately loved [the script] because I felt the sense of innovation, it’s portraying Mary in a way that I at least haven’t seen before. It’s giving her her voice back, showing her in a completely new light, and that was inspiring to me, and I really wanted to dive into that,” Noa says on what attracted her to the project.
