There was lots of anticipation for Justice League, but it made almost $20 million less than was predicted on its opening weekend. As reported by Rotten Tomatoes, the weekend began with $38.8 million from Friday which includes $13 million from Thursday night pre-show sales. On Saturday, it fell 15% to $33.1 million.

Justice League‘s opening weekend ended up amounting to $96 million. Vanity Fair noted that this number is “$70 million less than Batman v. Superman, $37 million less than Suicide Squad, $32 million less than Man of Steel and $7 million less than Wonder Woman.”

To make matters even worse for the film, it received pretty poor reviews from critics – most notably The Washington Post saying that fans deserve better.
