The 29th Screen Actors Guild Awards streamed live on Netflix’s YouTube channel last night and there were plenty of trending moments from the event. But one moment in particular which nearly broke the internet took place during the presentation for Best Male Actor in a Television Movie/Limited Series. Jenna Ortega and Aubrey Plaza took the stage to read out the nominees, but not before a hilarious skit that displayed their deadpan similarities.
“I don’t know why they paired us up together,” Plaza says followed with Ortega replying with “Yeah…. I know, we have nothing in common.”
“We should find the people who did this,” suggests Plaza, with them both saying line for line: “and curse their families and watch as misfortune follows their bloodline.” “Okay, I see it now,” Plaza admits.
This skit immediately went viral online with people calling for Jenna Ortega and Aubrey Plaza to star in a project together, including yours truly.

Some suggest that Plaza would be a great addition to Netflix’s Wednesday starring Ortega, others call for the pair playing mother and daughter – though we could also see them as a hilarious sister duo. Someone also suggested that Ortega reclaim her role as Ellie in Netflix’s stalker drama series You with Plaza.
Whatever the project, we could see this duo working together on-screen in the future. During an interview with Entertainment Tonight after the 2023 SAG Awards, Aubrey Plaza was asked about working with Jenna Ortega which she answered with: “I’m down, we’ll just kill everyone with our eyes.”
