MGM+ announced that production is underway in Serbia on the second season of its action-adventure drama Robin Hood along with new additions to the cast.
Joining the cast for Season 2 are James Purefoy (Saint-Pierre, Altered Carbon) as King Henry, Colin O’Donoghue (Once Upon a Time, The Rite) as Prince Richard, and Luke Roberts (Black Sails, Ransom) as Amaury D’Montfort. They join the returning ensemble cast Jack Patten, Lauren McQueen, Sean Bean, Connie Nielsen, Lydia Peckham, and Steven Waddington.
Robin Hood brings a modern energy to the classic tale of the roguish outlaw hero who stole from the rich and gave to the poor, and the epic love story between him and a courageous and daring Marian. It is a smart, sweeping, romantic adventure that brings historical authenticity, psychological depth, and a heightened focus on the relationship between Rob and Marian to the beloved story.
Season 2 “expands the world of Robin Hood, as the arrival of King Henry, Prince Richard and the ambitious Amaury D’Montfort reshapes the political landscape, forcing Rob and his allies to navigate shifting loyalties, royal power struggles and dangerous new threats.” Season 1 premiered in November 2025 and was renewed in February 2026.
