The eight-episode second season of the HBO drama series Industry recently premiered on Monday, August 1 on HBO and can also be streamed on HBO Max. Created by Mickey Down and Konrad Kay, the series gives viewers an inside look of high finance banking and follows a group of young bankers as they forge their identities within the high-pressure environment of international bank Pierpoint & Co’s London office.
Season 2 of Industry takes place a year after the height of the pandemic and stars returning cast members Myha’la Herrold (Bodies, Bodies, Bodies), Marisa Abela (Cobra), Harry Lawtey (The Pale Blue Eye), David Jonsson (Deep State), Ken Leung (Old and HBO’s High Maintenance) and Conor MacNeill (Artemis Fowl).
Season 2 also welcomes new cast regulars including Alex Alomar Akpobome (Twenties), Indy Lewis (La Fortuna), Katrine de Candole (Dominion) and Jay Duplass (The Chair) who portrays a reputable hedge fund manager. Returning recurring cast include Sarah Parish (Stay Close), Nicholas Bishop (Dominion), Sagar Radia (The Good Karma Hospital), Mark Dexter (The Crown) and Caoilfhionni Dunne (Britannia).
In season 2, the market is ripping and new U.S. management enters the game – an injection of cross Atlantic energy that lights a fire under everyone. Now Harper (Herrold), Yasmin (Abela) and Robert (Lawtey) must drive new business and make new alliances both in and out of the office as Pierpoint and its junior bankers seek to take every advantage in a post-COVID world.
We were joined on the Popternative show by Industry cast members Harry Lawtey, David Jonsson, Indy Lewis and Katrine de Candole to discuss season 2 and what viewers can expect. We also talk about the world of banking and what their knowledge was of that world prior to joining the series.
