We were joined on the Popternative show by Dichen Lachman (Severance, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes), Mena Suvari (Don’t Tell a Soul, American Beauty), and India Eisley (Look Away, The Secret Life of the American Teenager) who star in the new horror comedy, Vampires of the Velvet Lounge.

Written and directed by Adam Sherman (Crazy Eyes, She’s Just a Shadow), the cast also includes Stephen Dorff (The Righteous Gemstones, Blade), Lochlyn Munro (Peacemaker, White Chicks), Sarah Dumont (The Accursed, The Royals), Mark Boone, Jr. (Sons of Anarchy, 30 Days of Night), Sherman Augustus (Stranger Things, Into the Badlands), Timothy Murphy (The Lone Ranger, Appaloosa), Tom Berenger (Inception, Platoon), Rosa Salazar (Brand New Cherry Flavor, Bird Box), and Tyrese Gibson (Fast and Furious franchise).

Released in theaters on March 20, Vampires of the Velvet Lounge follows Elizabeth Báthory (Suvari) the notorious countess whose legacy is widely thought to have influenced Bram Stoker’s classic novel Dracula. Báthory leads a coven of vampires who sustain their youth by hunting for lonely singles on dating apps, luring them in before striking. But when Báthory matches with the wrong crowd—an undercover vampire hunter (Lachman) and a group of bros on a chaotic getaway—their deadly game quickly unravels into outrageous, blood-soaked mayhem.

Lachman reflects on the ambitious scope of the indie production, the physical demands of its action sequences, and her work on the acclaimed Apple TV series Severance, discussing its global appeal. Suvari and Eisley talk about the lasting popularity of vampire films, with Suvari highlighting her excitement about joining her first vampire project and the intense training required for its action-heavy scenes.

Watch the conversations with Dichen Lachman, Mena Suvari, and India Eisley below.
