Season 2 of The CW’s reboot of the martial arts drama series Kung Fu recently premiered on March 9, 2022. The series follows a young Chinese-American woman named Nicky who travels to a monastery in China. When she finds her hometown filled with crime and corruption, she uses her martial arts skills and Shaolin values to bring criminals to justice. Kung Fu stars Olivia Liang, Eddie Liu, Kheng Hua Tan, Shannon Dang, Jon Prasida, Vanessa Kai, Tzi Ma, Tony Chung, Gavin Stenhouse, Yvonne Chapman and season 2 newcomer Vanessa Yao.

Yvonne Chapman plays the main villain named Zhilan, and she has been promoted to series regular in season 2, and we were recently joined by her on the Popternative show to discuss all things Kung Fu. Yvonne explains the excitement of filming season 2, the global reach the series has attained and the range of scenes she gets to be part of.

“It’s [Kung Fu] been a dream to work on; the fact that I get to have emotional scenes, and funny scenes and fighting scenes, I get to do it all. How can I ask for more,” she explains.
