We were joined on the Popternative show by Staz Nair who can currently be seen in the first-of-its-kind immersive horror series The Faceless Lady, and in part 1 and 2 of Zack Snyder’s sci-fi action films Rebel Moon on Netflix.
The Faceless Lady premiered in VR on April 4th in Meta Horizon Worlds, and is produced by Crypt TV, ShinAwiL, and Eli Roth (Thanksgiving) in partnership with Meta. Viewers can immerse themselves in haunted experiences and while uncovering the mysteries of the series.
“I wasn’t sure what to make of it at first, being like ‘okay it’s a VR show, it’s with Meta, it’s horror’, these [were] all new components for me as an actor, and getting to be a part of it, it’s cool, it’s cutting edge, it’s kind of on the cornerstone of something that is probably going to keep expanding more and more,” Staz says on the series.

The cast also includes Tara Lee (The Fall), Mei Henri (Hijack), Ugo Onwughalu (Riches), Daisy Jelley (How to Date Billy Walsh), Sophie Rebecca-Jones (Holby City), and Ned Dennehy (Peaky Blinders).
The Faceless Lady is inspired by the real life seventeenth century Irish folklore of Lady Margaret Hodnett who is said to haunt Belvelly Castle in Cork stalking visitors through mirrors and reflective surfaces. Adapted for modern day with a supernatural twist, The Faceless Lady follows three couples who have been invited to a medieval castle in Ireland for a weekend competition where they will either win her games or lose their lives.

Staz can also be seen playing Tarak in Rebel Moon part 1 (A Child of Fire) which premiered on Netflix in December 2023, and in part 2 (The Scargiver) which recently premiered on April 19th.
On getting to play the character for 2 films, Staz says, “When you’re lucky to work with someone like Zach [Snyder] who has such an idea of what he wants to create, this is 30 years in the making, you’re very fortunate with the information you have in terms of where the character’s been, where he’s coming from, and where he’s headed. It’s a real luxury. We were [also] lucky by doing it in the format that we did, block shooting Rebel Moon part 1 and part 2 together.”
