We were joined on the Popternative show by actress Seri DeYoung who plays Claire Badgely in the The Fosters spin-off series Good Trouble on Freeform and Hulu. Seri, who hails from New Mexico, had her first professional acting gig on the coveted AMC series Breaking Bad. Known for her work on Good Trouble, Seri also had a recurring role as Gelina on CBS’s S.W.A.T..
The fourth season of Good Trouble premiered in March, and a fifth season has been confirmed as well. The series follows Callie (Maia Mitchell) and Mariana (Cierra Ramirez) as they move out of the Fosters home and head to Los Angeles to chase their own careers and paths.

In our interview, Seri discusses the growth of the characters, including hers, on Good Trouble, the rawness of the series and her career as a director. Seri has directed 10 short films and her next one is a feature length documentary which she goes into detail about towards the end of the interview.
