We were joined back on the Popternative show by Milo Manheim to discuss his two new films, Thanksgiving and Journey to Bethlehem, both out in theaters now. Thanksgiving is Eli Roth’s latest horror film which follows a mysterious Thanksgiving-inspired killer terrorizing residents of Plymouth, Massachusetts after a Black Friday riot ends in tragedy. The ensemble cast is also made up of Patrick Dempsey, Addison Rae, Nell Verlaque, Jalen Thomas Brooks, Tomaso Sanelli, Jeff Teravaninen, Rick Hoffman, Gina Gershon, Gabriel Davenport, Karen Cliche, and Jenna Warren.
Journey to Bethlehem, which was released in theaters November 10th, is a musical drama chronicling the Nativity Story featuring classic Christmas songs with a mix of of modern pop. Milo plays Joseph and stars alongside Fiona Paloma, Omid Djalili, Rizwan Manji, Geno Segers, Moriah, Joel Smallbone, Lecrae, Stephanie Gil, and Antonio Banderas.
In our interview, Milo discusses preparing to play Joseph and the certain aspects of his character he focused on. He also discusses working in the horror movie genre with Thanksgiving which is not something he’s worked in a lot. He also tells us what it was like working with Patrick Dempsey and what he learned from him and Eli Roth’s creative approaches to filmmaking.
