We were joined on the Popternative show by Maia Reficco (Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin) to discuss her new film, One Fast Move, streaming now on Prime Video. Maia stars in the sports-action drama alongside KJ Apa (Riverdale), Eric Dane (Euphoria), Edward James Olmos (Mayans M.C), and Austin North (Outer Banks).
Written and directed by Kelly Blatz (Senior Love Triangle), One Fast Move follows down on his luck Wes Neal (Apa) who asks for help from his estranged father (Dane) to pursue his dream of becoming a professional motorcycle racer. With the help of his small town love interest (Reficco) and a motorcycle shop owner (Olmos) who moonlights as his mentor, Wes starts to break down the walls that his father’s absence had built up while deciding for himself what he wants for his future.

On reading the script for the first time and preparing to play Camila, Maia tells us, “I read it and I instantly met with Kelly [Blatz], and for me I had a very privileged experience to read it and hear him explain to me what he wanted it to become. So I very quickly got the gist of it which was wonderful because I really understood who this character was.”
She also discuses what she’s learned from her past projects in both musical theater and film, and how those experiences shape taking on new roles. Watch the full conversation with Maia below.
One Fast Move is streaming on Prime Video.
