We were joined on the Popternative show by Lily Sullivan to discuss her new sci-fi thriller film Monolith which is will be released in theaters and on digital February 16th, 2024. It premiered at the Adelaide Film Festival and also has its international premiere at SXSW 2023. Directed by Matt Vesely (Aftertaste) and written by Lucy Campbell (The Big Nothing), Lily is the only on-screen actor seen in the film as we only hear the voices of other characters.
The official synopsis reads, “While trying to salvage her career, a disgraced journalist begins investigating a strange conspiracy theory. But as the trail leads uncomfortably close to home, she is left to grapple with the lies at the heart of her own story.”
Lily is also known for her recent role in the critically acclaimed horror film Evil Dead Rise, which was the most recent installment of the horror movie franchise. In our interview, Lily discusses working on a film where there was not really an ensemble cast present, reading the script for the film, and much more. She also goes into detail about her experience working on Evil Dead Rise and what she knows about the upcoming Evil Dead film.
