We were joined on the Popternative show by Kerri Medders who stars in the new slasher/comedy film Bring It On: Cheer or Die which premiered on Syfy on October 8th. This marks the seventh installment of the cheerleading films that began with Bring It On in 2000.
The official synopsis reads: “When a cheer squad practices their routines on Halloween weekend in an abandoned school, they are picked off one by one by an unknown killer.”
Directed by Karen Lam, Bring It On: Cheer or Die also stars Tiera Skovbye, Missi Pyle, Alten Wilmot, Erika Prevost, Sierra Holder, Marlowe Zimmerman and Alexandra Beaton.
In our interview, Kerri tells us that she is a big fan of the horror genre and that this is the first of the Bring It On films to branch out into it: “I always thought how interesting, cheerleaders and horror, that’s pretty cool.” She also tells us about the audition process and what she knew about the story before getting the lead role.
