We were joined on the Poptenrative show by Jessica Biel (Candy, The Sinner) and Elizabeth Banks (Mrs. America, The Hunger Games) to discuss their new crime thriller series, The Better Sister. The limited series premieres May 29 on Prime Video with all 8 episodes.
Based on the book by bestselling author Alafair Burke, The Better Sister is about the terrible things that drive sisters apart and ultimately bring them back together.
Biel plays Chloe, a high-profile media executive who has a picturesque life with her lawyer husband and teenage son by her side while her estranged sister Nicky, played by Banks, struggles to make ends meet and stay clean.

When Chloe’s husband is brutally murdered, the prime suspect sends shockwaves through the family, reuniting the two sisters, as they try to untangle a complex family history to discover the truth behind his death.
The series also stars Corey Stoll (Billions, The Strain), Kim Dickens (Fear the Walking Dead, Deadwood), Maxwell Acee Donovan (That ’90s Show, Good Kids), Bobby Naderi (The Beekeeper, Bright), Gabriel Sloyer (Griselda, Inventing Anna), Gloria Reuben (Elsbeth, Mr. Robot), Michael Harney (NCIS: Origins, Orange Is The New Black), Matthew Modine (Zero Day, Stranger Things), and Lorraine Toussaint (The Equalizer, Orange Is the New Black).
On discussing some of the court scenes in the series, Banks says, “You can imagine that the audience is like the jury; they’re there, they’re trying to figure out who is guilty, what really happened.”
