We were joined back on the Popternative show by Jeremy Swift (Ted Lasso) to discuss his new Halloween-themed film, Grow, playing in theaters in the UK and Ireland from October 17-23, distributed by Sky Cinema.

Shot on location in Scotland, Jeremy joins an impressive ensemble cast including Golda Rosheuvel  (Bridgerton), Priya-Rose Brookwell (The Lazarus Project), Nick Frost (Shaun of the Dead), Joe Wilkinson (After Life), Tim McInnerny (Notting Hill), Dominic McLaughlin (upcoming Harry Potter series), comedian and presenter Alan Carr, Jane Horrocks (Bloods), Kathryn Drysdale (Bridgerton), Fisayo Akinade (Heartstopper), and Sharon Rooney (Barbie).

Directed by John McPhail (Anna and the Apocalypse), the family-friendly film is set in the Pumpkin Capital of the World and follows farmer Dinah Little (Rosheuvel) who takes in her niece, Charlie (Brookwell) – but Charlie isn’t an ordinary child as she has a special connection with plants. As the town prepares for their annual pumpkin-growing contest, Charlie is set on winning with the help of her new neighbor and fellow plant lover, Arlo (Frost), but they’ll have to deal with growing rivalries.

“This time, I get to play a mad scientist who is under pressure to grow the biggest pumpkin in the village and it was a whole lot of fun to do. Everyday on set was just easy, it was real fun,” Jeremy says on taking on a different role for this project.

“This is a real refreshing take on the Fall movie; it’s not a scary movie, it’s a proper family film. It have magic and pumpkins. It’s one you can take your six-year-old and upwards to. It has a great kid’s story that is kid centric and it has great gags for moms and dads and grandmas and grandpas, some real fun stuff. And it’s got a great British cast,” he adds.

Tickets for Grow are available at Fathom Entertainment and participating theatre box offices.
