There are few scenes in cinematic history that have truly stood the test of time. The shower scene in Psycho, Jack slipping under the water in Titanic, and of course, Jim (played by Jason Biggs) and that warm apple pie from the 1999 cult classic comedy, American Pie. Nearly 25 years later, Jason Biggs has teamed up with Edwards Desserts for a limited-edition dessert, just in time for the Fourth of July celebrations. The new collaboration features some of Jason’s favorite flavors such: coconut passion fruit mousse, mango crème, pineapple lemongrass cream, garnished with tropical jellies, pineapple compote, and gold leaf.
We were joined on the Popternative show by Biggs to discuss the pie collaboration, and of course the legacy of the American Pie films and just how much of an impact they have had on the teenage comedy genre.
In our interview, Jason explains how the pies selected for the Edwards Desserts are “more his jam” as compared to the more traditional apple pie seen in American Pie. Biggs also talks about how he and the cast discovered pop-punk band blink-182 in their trailers on the first movie, which was how many fans discovered the band as well.
