We were joined on the Popternative show by Imogen Faith Reid who stars as Natalia in the Hulu series, Good American Family, inspired by the true events of Natalia Grace’s life. The limited series premiered on March 19 and the series finale debuted today, on April 30.

The series also stars Ellen Pompeo (Grey’s Anatomy), Mark Duplass (The Morning Show), Dulé Hill (Psych), Christina Hendricks (Good Girls), Sarayu Blue (Inside Out 2), and Jenny O’Hara (Transparent).

Told from multiple points of view, as a means to explore issues of perspective, bias, and trauma, Good Amrican Family is inspired by the disturbing stories surrounding a Midwestern couple who adopts a girl with a rare form of dwarfism. But as they begin to raise her alongside their three biological children, mystery emerges around her age and background, and they slowly start to suspect she may not be who she says she is.

As they defend their family from the daughter they’ve grown to believe is a threat, Natalia fights her own battle to confront her past and what her future holds, in a showdown that ultimately plays out in the tabloids and the courtroom.

In our interview, Imogen discusses preparing for this very complex role based on a real person’s life, working with the ensemble cast, and more. Watch the full conversation below.

All 8 episodes of Good American Family are streaming on Hulu.
