Set in a Belgian village during the start of World War I, the Lambert family find themselves thrust into the heart of the conflict: Leonard Lambert (Glen), a devoted husband and father who grapples with protecting his family amidst the chaos of war as German forces advance to their village. Amidst the war, a tender love story blossoms between Adrien Lambert (Downie), Leonard’s son, and Louise Janssen (Luss), a local villager. Their relationship serves as a beacon of hope and resilience in the face of adversity.

Iain and Sasha discuss how the COVID-19 pandemic impacted and delayed production for the film, with Iain highlighting the remarkable set designs: “The art direction was absolutely fantastic, every set we turned up to was the real deal, it was literally of the period finessed by the art department.”

“Once you get to put on the costume it of course becomes much more real but the journey is always there, the story is always there,” Sasha adds on her process of preparing to play Louise.
